What I'm gonna do: Read 100 books by August 17, 2009 (one year from today).

Rules

1. No rereads within the list, meaning I can reread books that aren't on the list, but once it's there I cannot read it again to count it.
2. School assigned books do count.
3. No skimming - which I never do.
4. If I don't read 100 books, I will donate one dollar for every book I did not read to a charity organization.
5. Books read before the given date do not count. That's cheating.

I know I'm being a huge nerd, but I've started collecting different lists of books. And I'm going to start posting them, I don't know. I guess I want to read a lot of books of ALL different kinds. So here is the Modern Library's Top Board List of the Century's Top 100 Books!

Even though I've read some that aren't striked, I'd like to reread them in the future so until them, they will remain un-striked.

 Today, I bought a book called 1001 Books for Every Mood at Borders. I decided I'm going to keep track on here of what books I've read on it. Already, there are a few I've read quite recently so I'll start with those. However, some that I've already read but I want to reread so I will not count those. I'll organize it by category and number of the book on the list. Listed below are the books I've read:

Title: Snow Falling On Cedars
Author: David Guterson
Rating: 4/5
Review:

David Guterson creates an imaginery island in the Sound, in place of the real Bainbridge island. The book jumps from Kabuo Miyamoto's trial to the pasts of the characters, which I actually grew to like. Ishmael Chambers was (given he's one of the main characters) my favorite, his false sense of hope made me sympathic for him.

I honestly think this is a good read for everyone. The book is a tragic lovestory, a murder mystery, historically fiction and beautifully written. The detailed descriptions of the characters were wonderful!

I very much enjoyed this book.

"They lay beside each other in the cedar tree talking until half an hour had gone by. Then, once again, they kissed. They felt comfortable kissing inside the tree, and they kissed for another half hour. With the rain falling outside and the moss softly under him Ishmael shut his eyes and breathed the smell of her fully in his nostrils. It was snowing earlier and my driveways all iced. It's weird because Kyra and I tried to skateboard on it.

Fail! I got a booboo on my arm :(

I watched The Butterfly Effect last night and haven't cried over a movie that long in forever.
Once it finished I kept crying.
WHAT THE HELL KIND OF ENDING WAS THAT?!?!

PLUS! Bobby from Jack & Bobby was the cute, little 7 year old.
Wow, he's hot now. :)
The movie left me feeling cold and indifferent so I went to bed early.
And woke up feeling VERY VERY hungry.

I feel genuinely happy.

I looked back at a lot of old Livejournal entries and realized how awesome my life has been so far. I have a great, amazing, sincere group of friends. It's like a weird high, I just feel at peace and chill. I'm so excited for my future. The rest of my junior year. My senior year. Homecoming. Senior prom. Graduation. Traveling. Leaving the house. College. New people. Partying. Sex. Drugs. Alcohol. Graduation. A career! A family! A husband (I hope!)! Children! Grandchildren! Gahhhh. And keeping in touch with all of my friends, keeping this Livejournal. Looking back through all the memories.

I'm excited for tomorrow. And the day after. And forever moreeee. :D!

1) If you're dressing up (yourself or your kids) for Halloween, who are you/they going to be? UHHMMM, I really don't know at the moment. I kind of want to be a dead person.
2) Handmade costumes or store-bought? Handmade are cool.
3) What age did you last go trick-or-treating? Still ridin' strong.
4) Have you ever egged someone's house on Halloween, or done any other such "trick"? Nope. Someday.
5) Do you believe in ghosts? Yep.



I'm going to fucking school tomorrow!
